Directorate: Social Care, Health Integration & Wellbeing 

Section: Public Protection 

Grade: Level 11

This is a permanent position for a full time EHO, within Public Protection, primarily handling environmental protection related issues, working flexible hours with some home working, usually Monday to Friday, to suit business needs, based at Civic Centre, Glebe Street, Stoke, Stoke-on-Trent, ST4 1HH.

 

Reporting to the Environmental Health Manager, you will be responsible for undertaking city wide environmental health related inspections, investigations, enforcement and advice, plus be involved in relevant project work. Please see the job description for more details.

 

You should possess, or be working towards a relevant degree, diploma or equivalent qualification in Environmental Health. 

 

Evidence of experience, continuous professional development, knowledge of current legislation and processes relating to environmental health is desirable, but applications are welcomed from newly qualified officers and those needing to complete a portfolio.

 

You will be expected to have effective communication and customer service skills, plus the ability to manage your own time and workload in order to meet targets and deadlines. Preferably, you will hold a full driving licence and be willing to work flexibly as directed and to take an active part in cross service Public Protection projects as required and also demonstrate a commitment to continually deliver high service standards.

 

Salary will be Level 11 and leave entitlement will be calculated in line with corporate policy and relevant time worked within local government.
