The Domestic Abuse Housing and Accommodation Officer post will work with victims of Domestic Abuse to provide appropriate emergency and safe accommodation with appropriate support for survivors aged 16 and over who have been affected by domestic abuse.
Post holders will predominantly be located within a District but will be required to support and attend at County Level, to ensure consistency and a joined up approach across the districts and to share skill base and specialisms of workers.
To work with survivors of Domestic Abuse to access safe and appropriate accommodation and ensure access to appropriate support services tailored to meet individual need. To ensure the Council meets its statutory duties in relation to Domestic Abuse legislation and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 by supporting each referral to access safe and appropriate accommodation
Qualified to A level or equivalent, with minimum 5 A-C, New Grade 4-9 (or equivalent) at GCSE level including Maths and English.
Previous experience of working with customers with complex needs, including those with a learning or physical disability, mental health issues or customers with English as a second language.
A good understanding of Domestic Abuse Legislation, good practise and appropriate approaches to training and support including in the context of VAWG (Violence Against Women and Girls)
This is a 2 year fixed term contract, 37 hours a week.
Appointment to this post is subject to satisfactory clearance of an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check.
You may be required to provide a suitable vehicle in connection with the duties of this post.
Flexible approach to working hours, able to work outside normal office hours if necessary, including a requirement to be available for evening meetings.
