This is an exceptional opportunity to work at one of the UK’s leading selective state secondary schools for girls.  We are seeking a well-qualified, experienced, highly motivated individual to fulfil this demanding post. The school is well resourced and depends upon the use of IT to support effective whole school leadership and management and crucially, to support engaging and challenging teaching and learning in the classroom.  The purpose of the role is to deliver and support transformational IT services throughout, providing staff, students and other stakeholders with an outstanding IT experience.  The strategic needs of the school have resulted in a 5 year IT strategy which includes a new wifi system, main server refresh and managed print solution upgrade, along with ongoing developments for staff and student provision.

The person appointed will ideally have experience in an educational environment and evidence of a previous or current leadership role with experience of line-managing staff.  They will need to be able to work effectively with all members of the school community; students, technicians, governors, administrative and teaching staff.  The person appointed must be committed to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of the students at the school.

Working as the IT Network and Systems Manager you will be confident in your abilities to help others get the most from the IT systems, with interpersonal skills to match your technical expertise.  This role will provide the right candidate with the opportunity to gain in depth experience with a wide variety of technologies.  It will suit someone with enthusiasm, a passion for IT and excellent organisational and communication skills.

King Edward VI Handsworth School is a warm and caring school which values all aspects of education as part of a broad and balanced curriculum. We have a thriving extra-curricular provision for students and place professional learning for staff at the centre of what we do. The successful candidate will be joining an outstanding girls’ grammar school which is part of the King Edward VI Academy Trust in Birmingham. Please download the job description, application form and department information from our website. Applications can be made by sending a completed application form, covering letter including the names and addresses of two referees, to the Headmistress, Mrs A Whittall.

Closing date: Wednesday 2 February 09:00

Interviews: 11 February 2022

King Edward VI Handsworth School for Girls is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS Check.
