Job Details

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Housing Services team as an Estates Services Officer. If you are someone who enjoys being in the outdoors, would like to maintain and improve the local environment and contribute to building safety, this role should interest you.

This role is about taking responsibility for and making a positive contribution to the cleansing, health and safety, fire safety, maintenance, and appearance in and around the communal areas of our housing stock and the wider housing neighbourhood. You will be able to make a positive impact on the quality of people’s lives, by helping to improve their environment and helping to address their concerns.

Your duties will include ensuring housing land and housing stock is safe and well maintained, you will carry out fire safety inspections, grounds maintenance, project days, supervise contractors, work closely with other internal colleagues, including partner agencies such as the Police and County Council.

Working sometimes on your own and sometimes as part of a team, your supervisor will be an Estates Team Leader.

This is a public facing role, so you need excellent communication skills as you will be working out on site daily, problem solving and interacting with tenants. The Estates Services Officer role does not require the post holder to be office based, the nature of this role is to be out and about within our estates. You will need to effectively deal with their concerns and work with colleagues throughout the service to make our neighbourhoods a cleaner and safer place to live. You will be provided with a company vehicle for use whilst at work and be provided with a uniform.

Requirements of the role include:

A driving licence is required as this role will include visiting several sites daily to conduct fire safety checks and ensuring our estates are safe, neat, and tidy.

This post will require the successful applicant to work 1 weekend in 3, which attracts an enhancement.

When completing the application, please ensure you read the attached Job Description and Person Specification, demonstrating you meet the essential criteria for this post, giving examples of your experience and skills wherever possible.

For Informal enquiries please contact Kerry Paget, Estates Team Leader on 07979 486617.
