Bricklayer Salary: £28,760 to £30,896 Job ref: WH21 959 Permanent 37 hours per week Full manual UK driving licence required

The Building Services division is responsible for Responsive and Planned Repairs throughout the city and Building Solutions. The vacancy is in the Repairs team.

The successful candidates must:

  • hold an NVQ Level 2 (minimum) or City and Guilds in bricklaying
  • have experience in working in tenanted properties
  • have the ability to demonstrate a high level of customer focus especially within an installation & repairs maintenance service.
  • be able to work within a successful team and have good communication skills

Job Purpose and Role: To undertake repairs, maintenance, and installation work on a variety of City of Wolverhampton Council’s domestic and managed properties as instructed within the range of the bricklayer trade including working at heights to an acceptable standard. Post-holder will undertake bricklaying and associated works in the following areas of the business. Repairs & Maintenance Building Solutions Voids Aids & Adaptations Planned Improvement Programme You will be required to undertake the full spectrum of bricklaying duties, and associated trade work to ensure satisfactory completion of work on all Wolverhampton Homes housing stock and any other buildings within its area of responsibility. Ensure that the relevant teams are informed of issues relating to the general estate management, property condition, void abandonment, rubbish, response repairs and safeguarding issues requiring attention. Ensure that the appropriate documentation is being maintained especially in monitoring performance of the section
