Finance Assistant

£18,562pa (pro rata) to £20,493pa (pro rata)

Part time, 20hrs per week plus 2.94hrs banked.  9:30am to 14:35pm Monday to Friday (including 1/2hr unpaid lunch), however, these times are negotiable.

(Banked hours are additional hours worked to enable you to take school holidays as paid leave.)

Up to 5 additional days are to be worked during the summer holidays, these can be taken as extra leave later in the year.

James Brindley is a stand-alone Academy based in a wide variety of locations across the City of Birmingham. In the course of a school year we educate over 3,000 pupils for periods ranging from a few days in hospital to several years in one of our teaching centres. The majority of our pupils have complex medical needs and many have been out of education for a significant period of time prior to joining the Academy.

James Brindley Academy is looking for a Finance Administrator to support a busy and successful team. The role is required to support the operational duties of the finance team, ensuring that tasks are undertaken in a compliant and efficient manner. The role will report directly to the James Brindley Finance Officer, and will support duties including; ordering, payments, income, pay claims, bank reconciliation, audit and month and year end processes. Full training will be given to the successful candidate; however, a desire to work in finance and experience of working within a professional environment are essential along with a GCSE Maths and English minimum C (or equivalent).

The role is based at Bell Barn Road, Birmingham (B15 2AF). There is private on-site parking available to staff.

This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent and spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.
