Advanced Practitioner EDT (Adult Social Care) - Ref: SS03921
Contract: Full time, 37 hours per week
Salary: G10 £37,890 - £42,821 per annum
(Plus 15% Unsocial Hours allowance) (pro rata to hours worked)
This is an exciting time to join Walsall Council’s Adult Social Care Service. We have a full time Advanced Practitioner vacancy within our Emergency Duty Team (EDT) 37 hours per week (annualised hours).
We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and professional registered social worker to join our very supportive and experienced team. The role involves working as an EDT duty worker, responding to referrals outside office hours during evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
The role primarily involves:
- Working with vulnerable people across the full age range across emergency children and adult services social work
- Responding to the needs of children, young people and vulnerable adults who may need support in crisis situations and to work with partner agencies to reduce risk
- To be able to complete factual, appropriate and detailed case recording and to complete risk assessments of vulnerable adults, children and young people who are in need of support or protection
- Being able to make sound professional judgements in often difficult and complex situations
You will have excellent practice skills, safeguarding knowledge and a proven track record of professional development. In addition you must hold a post qualifying award such as an AMHP, BIA or Practice Educator (stages 1 & 2) and be willing to use these skills in your practice.
We are particularly looking for applicants who have at least two years post qualifying experience, who have good skills, knowledge and experience within child protection and or / adult protection work. You will also have a good working knowledge of safeguarding procedures and of the main principles of the Children Act 1989 and the Care Act 2014.
Child Protection experience would be an advantage.
