Job Details

Dudley Council has invested £18.1m in building a new leisure centre for the residents of Dudley due to open in January 2022.  The new centre is named after one of Dudley’s sporting greats ‘Duncan Edwards’ and offers a wide range of facilities for all sections of the community including swimming pools, sports hall, meeting rooms, Adventure play, gym, toning suite, sauna and studios. The new facility will also contain a café facility and Corporate Landlord Services Catering will be responsible for delivering a high quality, affordable café service. We are seeking enthusiastic catering assistants who are passionate about excellent customer service to support our catering managers to delivery a high quality and affordable café offer.

Hours:

Applicants must be flexible on working hours as the individual will be required to work 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis over a 30 hour week, which will include alternate Saturdays and Sundays. Enhanced pay will be available for working Saturday (1.25), Sunday (1.50) and Bank Holiday (1.50). The café facility will be open from 7am until 7pm Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm Saturday and 9am – 4pm Sunday.

Salary: £9.25 to £9.43 per hour (Grade 2)

You main duties include;

  • Preparing of salads and sandwiches

  • Assisting with desserts and sauces
  • Serving food in an efficient, friendly manner.  With the customer being focus
  • Washing up café tableware
  • Setting out and cleaning café tables and chairs
  • Cleaning café area and kitchen premises
  • Cleaning kitchen equipment
  • Cleaning outside kitchen area, including drains and dustbin area
  • Be aware of of company procedures for food allergies and and ensure dietary requirements are met
  • Complete kitchen documentation e.g. cleaning schedules.

Key requirements;

  • Must possess a valid Food Hygiene Certificate or be willing to train for one
  • Experience of serving food within a large catering operation
  • Experience in a catering role, including food preparation.
  • Good customer service skills
  • Experience of using a till
