An exciting opportunity has arisen in Worcestershire, in Adult Social Care, for a dedicated Principal Social Worker, who will be part of the Senior Management team, reporting to the Assistant Director for Adult Social Care. This person will be passionate about development of the service, our staff and best practice, have expert knowledge of social care law, policy and guidance and will be the professional lead for Adult Social Work in the organisation, working closely with partners, carers and people with lived experience.

You will lead on the implementation of a quality assurance framework across the social work service and work closely with our Social Work Academy to ensure that front line staff are trained and equipped to deliver a high-quality service.
 
The successful applicant will take responsibility for identifying and responding to new initiatives and changes in legislation and government policy and will liaise and develop professional networks locally, regionally and nationally to influence practice improvements. Part of the role is to develop the body of social work knowledge and research within and outside the organisation, working in partnership to ensure that developments and organisational changes reflect the needs of front-line practice.
 
Applications will be welcomed from experienced social workers or managers who have the ability to develop strategies, policies and processes that improve the quality of adult social care practice. The post is pivotal in further embedding strength-based approaches in Adult Social Care and contributing to our transformation programme, in line with our People Strategy to promote peoples independence and wellbeing. You will also be expected to influence decision making and service delivery at a senior management level, providing challenge where necessary, in partnership with The Director and Cabinet Member with responsibility for Adult Social Care.
