THIS IS A SECONDMENT OPPORTUNITY OPEN TO EXISTING WALSALL COUNCIL EMPLOYEES ONLY
To support Walsall Council's transformation, we are looking for a talented and tenacious individual who can help us to deliver change.
Developing technologies, customer expectations and external budget pressures mean we need to modernise and rethink how we deliver our services.
We are recruiting for a Commercial Implementation Manager to support the council’s transformation. The post holder will be responsible for identifying, developing and delivering new income generating opportunities on a 2-year secondment.
The post holder will be expected to :
- be the council’s responsible Officer for delivering a commercial strategy and exploring, developing and supporting the implementation of new commercial ventures and investment opportunities.
- work collaboratively across the Council with managers and staff, to drive forward a commercial and business-like culture where colleagues are actively engaged in shaping excellent products and services for our customers.
- participate in cross-cutting, multi-disciplinary activities and projects and undertake specific senior-level project work at group and corporate level to contribute to the achievement of corporate priorities.
- develop and coordinate a cultural change programme with an aim to improve the way that the council approaches commercial activities across all areas of council.
- have strong analytical skills and thinking, happy with numbers and be able to logically translate data into opportunities and strategies.
- be empowered to use your knowledge, ingenuity and imagination across the full range of council services to meet our target.
