Walsall Fostering Service recruits, trains, assesses and supports foster carers.  We have a track record of high quality service provision and are committed to achieving positive outcomes for all Walsall children in care.  We are looking to employ two Supervising Social Workers:-

Post 1: Supervising Social Worker (Support and Development) - Permanent
In the Support and Development Team you will support, develop and supervise a mixed caseload of mainstream, connected carers.

Post 2: Supervising Social Worker (Recruitment and Assessment) - Two years fixed term contract
In the Assessment Team you will recruit, assess and support mainstream foster carers and support them. You will be offering supervision, support and training to foster families. You will have the opportunity to work creatively and closely with a group of foster carers and children.

For both posts, you will need to be social work qualified, registered with Social Work England, familiar with the TSD standards and have a comprehensive knowledge of fostering regulations and legislation.  We are looking for someone with experience, enthusiasm, and a commitment to developing both individual and groups of carers. You must have good communication skills and be able to work with a diverse group of families that reflect the borough of Walsall.
