We have two locality teams based in our communities working with older people, physically disabled and those with an acquired brain injury.

We use strengths and asset based approach in our practice; how individuals can be supported by the strengths they have in themselves, their network of support from family, friends and their local communities. Where care and support is required we work to ensure that this reflects the individual’s assessed needs and strengths while promoting their independence, choice and control.

We encourage positive risk taking with a ‘home is best’ philosophy, this is reflected in our performance as Telford and Wrekin is proud to have a lower than national average per population of admissions into long term placements for older people.

Our Social Worker roles are expected to undertake statutory Social Work functions in line with the Care Act and the Mental Capacity Act.  To undertake duties expected of Social Workers in line with the Professional Capabilities Framework and in accordance with the specific job description attached. The Social Work roles will work with complex Adults, their carers/family as directed by the Team Leader.

We are proud to offer a working environment that is supportive and rewarding, where professional curiosity is actively encouraged, while working as part of a team who are passionate about the work they do.  We offer great training and development options to all roles. We have a supportive management team which encourages critical reflection/supervision and structured progression routes for Social Workers from ASYE to Advanced Practitioners.

In addition to competitive rates of pay we offer an excellent benefits package to all of our employees; a generous annual leave and flexible working arrangements (to include mobile/home working), Local Government Pension scheme and payment of Social Work England registration fees.
