Secondment Opportunity within Stafford and South Staffordshire Children’s Disability Team.

Social Worker Grade 9, Stafford and South Staffordshire – Full Time 37 hours until January 2023.  

A rare secondment opportunity has arisen for a Social Worker within a Children’s Disability Team to cover Maternity. The Full Time post is based in Stafford, covering the Stafford and South Staffordshire Districts.

We are one of four double district Children’s Disability teams in Staffordshire, working alongside our colleagues within the Stafford and South Staffordshire districts as well as colleagues within the other three Children’s Disability teams.  We provide specialist support and services for children and young people with complex disabilities.

The work within Children’s Disability is diverse across the breadth of social work tasks and functions. This may include some occasional out of hours working.  Social Workers in this team are required to be creative and innovative, demonstrating an ability to work as part of a team.  The ability to engage and communicate with Disabled Children is essential and the successful applicant will be committed to ensuring the children they support receive the best quality service.

The teams are supported by skilled Family Practitioners who assist in facilitating behaviour management work, practical support and undertaking direct work with children and their families. We also have a close working relationship with our colleagues in the Children’s Disability Occupational Therapy Team.
