We are currently seeking to appoint enthusiastic and dedicated Strengthening Families Workers to join our team.
This is an exciting time to joins us. As an Ofsted ‘Good’ rated Children’s service, we are committed to providing the best care and support to our children and families and our employees.
As a Strengthening Families Worker you will work directly with children, young people and their families in order to promote, strengthen and to develop the potential of parents/carers and their children while working in a wide variety of settings across the City.
The successful candidate will undertake a preventative approach to ensure children and young people are supported and prevent them suffering significant harm and/or becoming looked after, while ensuring they are working towards a whole family approach of support.
In addition the post holder will manage a caseload of casework and group work and adopt a flexible and creative approach to managing this workload.
To work directly with children, young people and their families in order to promote, strengthen and develop the potential of parents/carers and their children providing early help to prevent the need for statutory support.

To undertake or contribute to multi-agency assessments of children and families in need of help and support.

To adopt a preventative approach to supporting children, young people and their families.

To manage a caseload of casework and groupwork and adopt a flexible and creative approach.

You will need: NVQ level 3 or equivalent e.g. in Education, Health or Social Care, Community Development or Diploma in Youth & Community Work • GCSE English and Maths or equivalent to level 2 of the National Qualification Framework.

Recent experience of supporting children and families in groups and individually as well as conducting assessments of need, in relation to children and families and experience of working in a diverse community.

To be able to demonstrate the ability to implement support plans and evidence outcomes with an ability to positively engage parents/carers.
