Total Reward Officer
Be Bold. Be Birmingham. These brand-new jobs in People Services are how we’re making things happen across the City. The Council provides services to around one million people, and it’s Europe’s largest local authority.
Vibrant, courageous and resilient – that’s how we describe our City, and right now great things are happening that go way beyond the Commonwealth Games this Summer. We’re proud of our heritage and we’re proud to be hosting the Games, and all that it represents, although there’s so much else to do.
Here’s what’s happening right now. We’re transforming how we deliver services to our customers, and we’ve created a brand-new People Services team to support our colleagues in delivering services to the citizens of Birmingham. We’re creating partnerships with networks and communities, as well as critical stakeholders to make change happen. And we’re encouraging people like you, who thrive on change and complexity to join us. We’ll take it for granted that you are courageous and inquisitive, as well as sensitive to others as they experience the impact of change on their roles.
Are you able to influence decisions about pay and reward?
This is an exciting opportunity for you to join a brand-new team supporting the development and delivery of our wider reward strategy. This varied role will provide great opportunities for you to engage with Talent and Resourcing team colleagues and stakeholders from across the council.
We’ll provide you with opportunities to support developments in reward, recognition, employee benefits, pay, terms and conditions, grading and relevant policies. This is your chance to work closely with other colleagues from across the council, including trade union representatives, providing professional advice and guidance on reward issues including shaping the development of Total Reward Statements.
We’ll take it for granted that you are an engaging communicator, enthusiastic collaborator and enjoy making evidence-based decisions and finding solutions. We’re ready to hear about how you could contribute to making our vision come to life, are you ready to join us?
We are always looking for people of the highest calibre whose knowledge, skills and experience will help us provide the best possible service to achieve our vision.
In return, we can offer you excellent terms and conditions such as annual leave, pension scheme, childcare vouchers, annual travel passes and discounts at a number of city centre establishments.
We welcome applications from people with caring responsibilities and flexible working options will be considered.
