Community Customer Service Apprentice
£4.81 per hour/£177.97 per week (paid monthly)
37 hours per week
To study for a Customer Services Practitioner Level 2 qualification
18 month post
The Community Learning Team work in community settings across the borough promoting learning opportunities, particularly those on Learn Telford. They use a variety of methods including job junctions, pop up stands, group visits and one off taster sessions. Their aim is to support residents to improve their skills and to access employment.
If you enjoy working with people and would like a role that is different every day, this is for you.
You will support the community learning team in a wide variety of activities delivered in community settings. The role will involve working in different area each day so you must be confident in making your way around Telford. You will be provided with a bus pass and allowed time to travel between venues.
You will also provide some clerical and administrative support as required for the service, using common ‘office’ applications such as word processing, database and spreadsheet programmes. Provide support to members of the team by way of gathering, co-ordinating, collating, photocopying and distributing information as required.
You will be required to comply with customer service standards with particular regards to standards of dress, telephone etiquette and customer care, attend relevant training and retraining courses, team briefs, staff development and general meetings as directed by the Community Learning Team Leader.
You should have good communication skills and be confident talking to people.
You should be confident in the use of office applications.
Training will be provided throughout the apprenticeship to support you and build on existing skills
No previous experience is essential, however if you have any previous work experience, interests or activities that involve dealing with customers/people, studying, or practical skills relevant to the job description it is useful to note it down on the application form.
The skills you have should include being flexible and adaptable, whilst also being organised and accurate.
The work involves daily contact with members of the public so you should be able to communicate well with people from a wide range of backgrounds and be comfortable working in groups.
