BAES is the largest adult learning provider in England. You will be joining a busy, friendly, and professional senior leadership team that sits within Birmingham City Council’s Education and Skills Directorate.

This is an exciting time for the service and its journey towards becoming an outstanding provider of adult and community learning. Attracting and retaining high-calibre people is fundamental to our continued success.

We are seeking a highly motivated, well-qualified, innovative and inspiring senior leader who will undertake a strategic role in shaping and creating a vibrant community learning curriculum and who utilises a variety of delivery models in order to engage learners in priority groups, including those that are the furthest away from learning or that are the hardest to reach, while ensuring the experience of every learner is the best that it can be.

This is an exciting new senior role reporting to the Head of Service/Principal. You will have the opportunity to manage a team dedicated to achieving and sustaining high levels of learner satisfaction and delivering a fit for purpose community learning curriculum that provides a high-quality learning experience for everyone, every day, both now and in the future. In return, we can offer you the opportunity to become a key member of an experienced, inclusive and professional Senior Leadership team who are focused on raising the achievement and aspirations of all learners across the service.

The post holder should bring knowledge, experience and expertise of post 19 funding, curriculum development, planning and delivery. You will have a strong track record of developing long-lasting partnerships with the third sector and community group that have made a difference to local communities. You will be expected to lead and motivate your team and have a proven track record that demonstrates an ability to lead on continuous quality improvement.
