Within Social Care and Support, we firmly believe in putting people first. Our work includes delivery of duties in arranging social care and support services for vulnerable people and their families with eligible needs and facilitating protection when needed e.g. safeguarding and mental health related responsibilities.

The teams comprise of Admin Staff, Social Workers, Community Care Workers, Occupational Therapists and Operational Managers.

It's a busy, customer serving role where no two days are ever the same, and we can provide the perfect environment for you to begin your career as a Business Administration Apprentice.


The Role

37.0 Hours per Week

This is a fixed term contract for 15 months.

Joining our team you’ll be responsible for providing accurate general administrative and routine financial duties as well as answering the phones and greeting customers and visitors to our department. You’ll be assisting with organising meetings; taking minutes; diary management; sorting and distributing the post as well as updating our databases.

In addition you’ll be undertaking work in different locations across the county to help the wider team as required.

You will also be undertaking a Business Administration qualification. The qualification will launch your career as a business professional and enable you to step up into a huge variety of different roles upon completion, as the transferable skills you acquire from this apprenticeship are the glue that holds businesses together and will be indispensable to you for the rest of your career.

Key Requirements

To be successful in this role you’ll need good literacy, numeracy and administrative skills with the ability to analyse information to solve general queries as well as good IT skills including Word and Excel. As you’ll be managing a variety of relationships with different stakeholders, it’s important you have good communication skills and can to work within a team and on your own initiative. Good planning and organising skills, used to working under pressure to meet deadlines; resilient and used to handling confidential information is also required. In addition you’ll have strong attention to detail and be flexible to travel to other locations across the county to undertake work as and when required.

Another important requirement is that you can travel to Bedworth, where this job will be based. Travel to work is not something that we can support you with, so please consider how you will get to work each day before applying.

Apprenticeship Pay Scale from 1 October 2016:

Point 1 = £4.00 an hour, £148.00 a week, £7,717.14 a year – initial salary for all new starters for the first 12 months of the apprenticeship

Progression of pay after 12 months are complete as follows:

Point 2 = £5:55 an hour, £205.35 a week, £10,707.54 a year - completed 12 months and aged 19 - 20

Point 3 = £6.95 an hour, £257.19 a week, £13,408.54 a year - completed 12 months and aged 21 - 24

Point 4 = £7.20 an hour, £266.40 a week, £13,891.00 a year – completed 12 months and aged 25+

This apprenticeship is intended to begin in April/May 2017. If you are not currently in full time education, then if you are the successful candidate we will start you as soon you are ready, pending successful completion of pre-employment checks.

The Training Provider for this apprenticeship is Heart of England Training.
