‘Working as a Team Leader in the out-of-hours Emergency Duty service suits my lifestyle of wanting to be involved with children, families, and vulnerable adults when it matters most when they need an emergency response in a crisis. Strong emphasis on supervision training and emotional support a prerequisite helps create a sense that you are never alone. I enjoy being a Team Leader and working in an environment that is fast-paced and requires me to think ‘outside the box,’ and certainly keeps me on my toes! EDT (Emergency Duty Team) provides a safeguarding service for all residents of Warwickshire and at times this results in having to think creatively, within the boundaries of legislation and continues to support my personal development and move into management. Staff whom I support have a wealth of experience, knowledge, and skills. Each day is different, and each member of staff in EDT is a privilege to work with’.

About Us

The Emergency Duty Team is a Countywide Out of Hours Social Work Service that operates in the evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays when mainstream Day services are closed.

The Emergency Duty Team consists of experienced skilled qualified Social Workers and managers who can quickly assess risk/need for vulnerable individuals of all ages and have a pivotal function in the prevention of vulnerable adults/children suffering harm and provide support to avert or manage an emergency/critical situation, always in the best interests of the child/adult concerned.

The team will work with individuals, families, and partner agencies to reduce the risk of harm and where possible provide advice and guidance to prevent an immediate crisis within a family.

About the Role

We are looking to recruit a part-time Enhanced Team Leader. Experienced and calm, you will be able work out of office hours to provide management support, lead and guide a team of professionals to make great decisions for vulnerable children/adults in Warwickshire. Restorative in your approach you will be a team player who is able to provide high support and high challenge.
