Location: Support required throughout Staffordshire in further education and community settings.  Office base is Staffordshire Place 2, Stafford (Centre for mileage as agreed)

Salary: £12.42 – £14.26 per hour

Hours vary depending on availability and demand - Zero Hours Contract

About the role

We are looking to appoint Communication Support Workers to work within the ASSIST team to provide curriculum access, support and empower people with a sensory loss/Autism Spectrum condition in educational and community settings and be involved in all areas of the curriculum.  Hours will vary.  There is a particular focus supporting people with sign language communication needs within the community in Staffordshire and would therefore particularly welcome applicants who have Level 2 British Sign Language (and above) or equivalent.

What you’ll bring

You will be required to use a variety of methods and skills to ensure students/clients who have a hearing or vision impairment or an autism spectrum condition have access to information and empowered as required.  Students/clients will be over 16 years of age and require support in a variety of subjects; in educational and community settings.  Training, supervision and feedback will be provided.
