Prince Henry’s Support Staff Scale 2 (points 5-8), £9,307 - £9,598 per annum  (£18,367 - £18,941 full time equivalent)

22.5 hours per week

A rare opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and versatile person to join the support staff team at Prince Henry’s High School.  Primarily based in the school’s Student Reception hub, the successful candidate will handle internal and external phone calls, as well as dealing with enquiries from students, staff, parents and visitors.  They will also assist with general administrative and reprographic work and provide first aid support when required.

The Receptionist/Admin Assistant will work for a minimum of 22.5 hours per week (more hours may be available) from Monday to Friday during term time only.  The exact working hours each day are to be determined, but these will fall within the school’s normal working day between 8.30am – 4pm.

The successful candidate will:

  • Enjoy working with young people;
  • Have a confident and professional telephone manner;
  • Be experienced in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel;
  • Have calm manner and good personal organisational skills to work in what can, at times, be a busy office environment; and, most importantly Will be a team player.

Experience of working in a school environment would be advantageous, as would knowledge of SIMS, although neither are essential.  Full training will be provided where necessary, including a Level 3 First Aid qualification. 

Prince Henry’s is a popular and over-subscribed 13-18 High School with approximately 1280 on roll including more than 330 in one of Worcestershire’s largest Sixth Forms. The school enjoys an excellent reputation locally and has consistently been judged outstanding by Ofsted, most recently in May 2013.  A Teaching School since In May 2014, the school became a Teaching School Hub in 2021 and, having been accredited with SCITT status, has been offering its own Initial Teacher Training programmes since September 2017.  It has also benefited from more than £8m of capital investment into its buildings during the past eight years, providing and excellent working and learning environment for staff and students alike.
