Childrens Occupational Therapist x 2 posts

Full time, Grade 9 - £32,798 – 37,568 per annum

A fantastic opportunity has arisen in our small, friendly team for 2 Occupational Therapists within the Children’s Disability Service. This opportunity will allow the chosen candidates the chance to work flexibly, with no evening or weekend working expected.  With options of home working, and a choice of several bases and touch down centres to utilise whilst travelling around Staffordshire’s beautiful towns and countryside.  

Within the Staffordshire children’s service, providing our staff with the support they need to develop and progress is our utmost priority.  The successful candidates will be provided with regular, high quality 1:1 supervision, monthly CPD and peer sessions along with additional training to equip them with the tools to do their job both confidently and competently.  Successful candidates will also undertake a thorough induction including joint casework to support expanding thie knowledge and skills and encourage their confidence to grow.  

 The ideal candidates will be:

    Excellent communicators, with the ability to engage children, families and professionals Committed to ensuring the children on their caseload receive a high-quality service Passionate about providing the best outcomes for disabled children and their families Highly motivated, and work well on their own initiative as well as within a team Qualified Occupational Therapists ideally with a minimum of 12 months experience Experienced working with children or within a social care setting (although not essential)
We have 4 Children’s Disability teams across the county, and they provide specialist services for children and young people with complex disabilities. The Countywide Occupational Therapy Team supports the Disabled Children’s Service (social work colleagues) to ensure we reach the best outcomes for our Disabled children in a timely manner, enabling them to live their lives to the full.

The role will consist of but not be limited to: completing assessments, reviews, advice, equipment provision including manual handling equipment, minor adaptations, major adaptations funded via disabled facilities grant (DFG), supporting the social work teams in safeguarding children.
