About us and the role

The Independent Living Team have an exciting role available.   The Independent Living Team supports the social care and support teams with information and advice and the administration of Direct Payments and other forms of self-directed payment.  Direct Payments are for people who have been assessed as eligible for care and support and who choose to arrange for their care and support services using Direct Payments instead of the Local Authority commissioning the care.

Within this role, you will be supporting customers and Social Care staff with the set up and the ongoing changes of Direct Payments.  You will be working and communicating at all levels to contribute towards positive outcomes.  

You will work co-operatively as a member of the Independent Living Team to provide administration and financial calculations for Direct Payments and other forms of self-directed payment.

To include signposting to the relevant guidance, processing referrals to the external support services and undertaking the administration of the payments on behalf of the Social Care and Support Teams

To offer guidance, support and signposting to Social Care and Support customers and partners on Direct Payment policy and guidance.
