Income Billing Officer - Band B/C £18,887 to £23,484 per annum

Income Recovery Officer - Band C - £20,852 to £23,484 per annum

Are you interested in building a career within a fast paced Income and Awards / Revenue and Benefits team?

As a high performing Metropolitan Council for Council Tax collection, we have a number of new positions within our Income & Awards team, who will ensure the effective processing of billing and collection with regards to Council Tax, Non Domestic Rates, Business Improvement District (BID), Housing Benefit Overpayments and Sundry Debts.

Income Billing Officer

As an Income Billing Officer, you will join our successful Revenues team and take a customer focused approach to the collection of all Income Debt.

You will be responsible for all aspects of Income Collection including billing of Council Tax, Business Rates, Business Improvement District, Sundry Income and Housing Benefit overpayments.

You will need:

  • 4 GCSE’s A-C including Maths and English (or equivalent), or be able to demonstrate effective numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Experience of working in an office environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both spoken and written
  • Experience of working in a performance driven environment against specific targets
  • Sound analytical skills for accurately handling and processing data

Income Recovery Officer

Working on more complex cases, our Income Recovery Officer will be responsible for all aspects of Income Collection as above from reminder stage onwards, including post Enforcement Agents through to the final notice stages of the recovery process.

In addition to the requirements above, you will need:

  • Recent and relevant experience of working in Local Taxation in a debt collection environment
  • Knowledge of local taxation legislation
