As a Lead Product Manager, you will be joining a multidisciplinary team at the heart of transforming public services for the UK’s second largest city. We create, develop, deliver and operate an exceptionally diverse range of services that have a direct impact on improving the lives of £1.2m residents everyday.

What you will do

A lead product manager is the lead for the product team in their programme or service. At this level, you will:

  • form the vision for your product and engage your teams and stakeholders in the development of that vision over time
  • keep people informed about the development of your products and promote their uptake
  • represent users throughout the delivery process and use their feedback to inform continuous improvement

Who are you

This is a multi-skilled role requiring

  • Experience in coaching and leading teams in Agile and Lean practices
  • You know about the wider digital economy and advances in technology. You understand agile working at an organisational level.
  • You know how to influence, challenge and coach. You can anticipate how constraints might change and know where to challenge or remove constraints.
  • You can apply experience of multiple parts of the product life cycle. You can recognise when it is right to move forward and when it is right to stop. You can recognise the appropriate deliverables and the right people to meet these.
  • Keeps abreast of industry best practice and cascades ways of working. Knows how to make operations efficient.

 

  • Able to anticipate problems and knows how to defend against them at the right time. Understands how the problem fits into the larger picture.
  • Able to develop a long-term vision and objectives.
  • Gives direction on which tools or methods to use. Is experienced in meeting the needs of users across a variety of channels.
