We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and capable team player to assist with providing a pro-active, customer focused Procurement service to Members, the Corporate Management Team, and budget holders.
The role will provide management and development of the procurement activity across the Council to maximise value for money, embed good practice, drive innovation, and deliver social value to deliver the best possible outcomes for local people. The post holder will advise service units on procurement and support them with tendering exercises via the procurement tender system In-tend. Working in full compliance with the Public Contract Regulations you will ensure legally compliant and robust contracts are established, minimising risk of challenge to the Council. Your expertise in commissioning, procurement, and drafting contracts across the Council’s third party spend will support the delivery of the Council’s Procurement Strategy. The successful candidate must have experience in a busy Procurement environment and be able to demonstrate competence in a range of IT applications including Microsoft Office.
The successful applicant will have experience of working at a senior level dealing with Procurement legislation, concepts and principles, and hold or be working towards the CIPS qualification.
This is a home working contract and the majority of duties will be carried out at home, however, employees will be contractually required to attend site on two days per month for team meetings, 121 meetings, etc. Employees may also be required to attend a site for meetings, collaborative work or to undertake work related activities. Site attendance will constitute no more than 40% of working time and includes the contractual 2 days per month.
