An opportunity has arisen for an experienced and forward-thinking property specialist to oversee the planning and delivery of repairs and statutory compliance works to the Council’s housing and general property portfolios.

 

 

 

We are seeking an individual who has the ability to create a climate where employees are involved, empowered and committed whilst ensuring that activities are fully aligned and support our business goals.

 

 

 

Managing a team of Project Officers and working closely with colleagues in customer services as well as premises managers, tenant representative groups and delivery partners the role will ensure that the Council meets its repairing obligations to housing tenants, commercial tenants and that the Council’s operational buildings are maintained to a high standard.

 

 

 

The successful candidate will be qualified to at least HNC/HND level or equivalent in a relevant construction or surveying-based subject and have proven relevant experience of delivering a repairs service within the social housing sector. The successful candidate must have a detailed knowledge of current legislation, including upcoming legislation relating to building safety, they will also have a detailed working understanding of contract, project and budget management.

 

 

 

You will have a passion for service improvement and experience of delivering transformation through people and technology, using sound problem solving skills to create innovative solutions.

 

 

 

Working in partnership with managers, employees, tenant groups and contractors you will have exceptional communication, influencing and negotiating skills in order to build constructive relationships and ensure a high level of customer service.

 

 

 

This is a home working contract and the majority of duties will be carried out at home, however, employees will be contractually required to attend site on two days per month for team meetings, 121 meetings, etc. Employees may also be required to attend a site for meetings, collaborative work or to undertake work related activities. Site attendance will constitute no more than 40% of working time and includes the contractual 2 days per month.
