Payroll Assistant
Full Time
Pay Range is between £20,144.00 to £24,920.00 dependent on experience.
Minimum 33 days annual holiday rising to 42 days dependent on service (including bank holidays)
Central Learning Partnership Trust has 15 schools across the country with the Head Office based in Wolverhampton.
The role will assist the Payroll Manager in all aspects of processing a monthly payroll of over 1,000 people. Assist in all reporting duties to various pension schemes and government agencies together with general payroll and pension administration duties.
The successful candidate will cover for Payroll Manager holidays and absences. Have access to the local government career average pension scheme with an employer contribution of circa 20%. Be based at a school with good public transport links and free car parking.
Candidate Qualities
Essential
- An understanding of payroll legislation and calculations including PAYE, SSP, SMP, SPP, SAP etc. National insurance, Student & Postgraduate loans, apprentice levy, pension schemes and pension national auto enrolment regulations. Experience of working in payroll administration. Be IT proficient with a good working knowledge of Microsoft office programmes.
Desirable
- Experience and/or knowledge in education specific payroll processing, including pay scales and payments, term time calculations, education specific sick and maternity pay rules and calculations, Teachers’ and Local Government Pension Scheme reporting requirements. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft excel and word, including Vlookups, tables, mail merging etc. Knowledge and experience of statutory reporting requirements such as office of national statistics, gender pay gap, apprentice targets, trade union facility time. Experience of using Civica Payroll system (previously Carval payroll). Professional Payroll Qualifications
