We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified professional who is both passionate and knowledgeable to join our dedicated science department at an exciting time in the school’s history.  The school has been rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted, most recently in January 2018: “The leadership team has maintained the good quality of education in the school since the last inspection. You have created an inclusive and purposeful environment. Blue Coat is a ‘welcoming school’. Pupils enjoy school. Staff are proud of the school. They believe that there is a culture that encourages calm and orderly conduct and is aspirational for all pupils.”

The science department has recently undertaken a multi-million pound refurbishment as part of the Department for Education’s Priority Schools Building Programme.  The department now boosts state of the art science facilities which provide superb foundations for the delivery of high quality teaching and learning across all of the science disciplines.

Blue Coat Church of England Academy is one of the oldest educational establishments in Walsall, is well-respected and valued by the community it serves.  We operate on a very collaborative approach to school improvement working with a range of other schools and nationally recognised trainers.  The school is very proud of the family ethos which pervades all aspects of its work, which is grounded in Christian values.  We offer an extensive and innovative staff development programme, including an excellent support programme for newly and recently qualified teachers.
