Elective Home Education Worker -
Salary: £21269 - £23953 Grade 6 per annum (pro rata)
37 Hours per week- Permanent
This is an opportunity to join an experienced and developing Elective Home Education (EHE) team
This position is for an individual with experience of the education system and knowledge of elective home education. The successful candidate will be appointed to the Elective Home Education Team, a team which specialises in working with parents who chose to electively home educate their children.
We are seeking an individual who has NVQ 3 in respect of working with children and their families or equivalent. You will report to the EHE Co-Ordinator and will hold responsibility for a number of cases. You will be responsible for ensuring parents are providing a suitable education for their children, and offering support information, advice and guidance were appropriate.
It is essential that you have experience of enabling parents and children to take full advantage of the educational opportunities available. Experience of working with parents and children in an education setting is also desirable in this role.
If you have the skills, knowledge and experience to work in a busy team and a commitment to supporting children and young people to achieve their full potential, then this is an opportunity for you to join a Service with a clear focus on achieving positive outcomes for children and young people.
EHE Team provides the following services:
- ensuring parent are providing suitable education for their children
- A statutory function of the local authority in identifying children without a suitable education
- Support to parents who wish their children to return to a school environment
- Information, advice and guidance to other agencies on EHE
