We are very excited to be opening a brand new Childrens home within Walsall caring for children and young people aged between 7-18 years.
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated, experienced individual, who has the appropriate skills to set up and lead a new Childrens home, through to Ofsted registration, and take on the role of Registered Manager. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one-year experience managing and supervising staff within a Childrens Residential home and possess a Level 5 diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification.
As this is a new home, the successful candidate will be on board from the beginning and take a lead role in shaping and developing the home, its systems and procedures. This would ideally suit someone looking for a challenge to succeed and an opportunity to progress their career and instil their own vision, plans and ideas, whilst also promoting the ethos and vision of Walsall council.
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of the needs of young people in care. They should have extensive knowledge and understanding of the Childrens Homes (England) Regulations 2015, the guide to the Quality standards, Ofsted’s Social Care Common Framework (SCCIF) and other relevant statutory legislation, guidance and good practice.

This is a full time position and may involve working some evenings and weekends alongside the staff team where necessary. You will be expected to undertake on call duties as part of a rota.

Important: Our Residential Homes can accommodate children up to 18 years of age. Due to the nature of this post the Department for Education National Minimum Standards state that the employees must be 4 years older than the oldest resident. Therefore, applicants must be 22 years of age or older.
