The role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic and tenacious Specialist Housing Personal Advisors within Worcestershire's Care Leavers Service to support young people aged 17-24 who are preparing for or are in the process of making the transition to independent living.

As a Specialist Housing Personal Advisor you will manage and support a small, allocated caseload of young people and act as the link person between the district councils and the Care Leavers’ service, working together to prevent homelessness.

You will develop effective working relationships with young people and partner agencies, you will be the key professional to your young people, providing practical help and guidance to promote their safety and wellbeing, with a specific focus on resolving and supporting more complex housing issues.

You will gather data and co-ordinate housing plans across the service, offering housing advice and guidance to colleagues both within the Care Leavers service and wider teams. You will be working in partnership with others to find flexible, realistic and sustainable housing solutions for our young people so that when they move on from care, they have appropriate accommodation and support.

You will be responsible for keeping case records, developing young people’s Pathway Plans, attending meetings and completing visits to young people at home and in the community; always seeking to promote the best outcomes possible.
 

About you:

We are looking for someone who is flexible and adaptable in their practice, someone who is professionally curious, passionate about helping young people achieve their potential and can work in line with corporate parenting principles. You need to be tenacious, calm under pressure, have great organisational skills and an ability to negotiate with our partners in housing departments across Worcestershire.
 

About us:

The Team is normally based the County Hall Campus in Worcester. You would typically work in the community, county-wide and sometimes beyond and have lead responsibility for 3 out of 6 housing districts.  There is variety to our work and no two days look the same.
