Are you a motivated and creative Social Work professional who is committed to improving the lives of people with learning disabilities? Are you looking to change your area of practice or progress further in your career?

The role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Social Work Practitioner to work in the North Community Learning Disabilities Team in Worcestershire. This is a full-time position, 37 hours per week based at Parkside in Bromsgrove and with a competitive salary of between £38,553 to £39,571.

We are a really supportive team with a stable workforce who are committed to building on the strengths of the people we work with.  Using the 3 Conversations approach, workers are supported to look at creative ways of meeting the identified needs of adults who have a learning disability, ensuring they have the maximum choice and control over their lives.

Your role is to support this practice both in formal and informal supervision, and to support the co-ordination and facilitation of weekly reflective practice for the team.  You will also underpin the operational duties of the team by providing expert knowledge of the adult social care system and issues that can arise from complex care management. Supervising qualified Social worker and Social Care Workers, you will have a key role in supporting and overseeing the allocation of work within the team and will pick up a level of case management and duty issues when needed. You will be required to take responsibility for working with a wide range of other professionals and will have the opportunity to contribute to developing services for people with Learning Disabilities, through links with commissioning and other strategic partners. You will maintain close links with health colleagues, including regular joint team meetings, to provide a holistic Multi -Disciplinary Team Approach to case management.

To be successful in the post you will have significant post-qualifying experience, and clear identifiable career progression.  You will have ideally completed your practice education (PE) award and have previous experience of supervising/supporting social work practitioners and students.

In return, we can offer you the flexibility to work remotely and from an office base. You will have excellent access to training opportunities including a management programme to support your progression. You will receive regular individual and peer supervision and have support to reflect on and develop your practice with the team manager and other managers within the Learning Disability Service.
