WALSALL CHILDREN’S SERVICES
Crime Prevention Worker (Youth Justice Service) - Ref: CH01222
Salary: G7 (£27,514 – £31,895)
Contract: Permanent
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and positive practitioner to join The Council’s Youth Justice Service as a Crime Prevention Worker on a permanent basis.
The Youth Justice Service is a multi-agency partnership service established under S.37 of the Crime and Disorder Act with the principle aims of reducing offending and re-offending of young people. Our Crime Prevention Workers support children and young people on the periphery of the youth justice system by delivering diversion interventions with partners and with those young people involved with the Police and receiving out of court disposals.
The Youth Justice Service are looking for candidates who are dedicated, positive and passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people involved in the youth justice system in Walsall. The right person will join the Crime Prevention Team to undertake assessments and complete plans and interventions with young people subject to Police disposals such as Youth Cautions. You will be part of a close-knit restorative team and will work closely with other practitioners within the Youth Justice Team and partners, including the Police.
Candidates must have a relevant level 4 qualification or equivalent, have experience of working with children and young people and a good understanding of child development and risk management. The right candidate will push for better outcomes for children and families in Walsall and share the YJB’s ‘Child First’ vision and align with the WR4C ‘Walsall Right for Children’ vision.
For an informal discussion please contact Lara Dauncey or Mark Patrick at Walsall Youth Justice Service on 01922 650 400.
