The newly established Black Country Transport Team operates on behalf of the 4 Black Country Local Authorities, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Sandwell and Dudley. It has been established to lead on Strategic Transport, Major Scheme Development and transport funding bids, with the aim of raising the profile of the Black Country and securing a greater level of investment.
Working across the 4 Black Country Local Authorities the Black Country Transport Team has an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to join our team. The role will manage the development of Major Highway Schemes along our key corridors running across the Black Country Corridors.
The post holder will form part of a team delivering cross boundary and multi modal transport schemes aiming to combine normal highway improvements, cycling and Walking measures, Bus Priority and Signal enhancements. The aim to is create a series of sustainable urban corridors across the Black Country that not only improve connections to key destinations, but also enhanced places for local communities.
Ability to work collaboratively across different organizations. The role will most likely require cross boundary working and also with officers at key organizations such as Transport for West Midlands, Highways England, Midlands Connect and the Department for Transport.
- Experience of DfT Webtag
- Development of large highway or transport schemes
- Developing Major Scheme Business Cases
