About our role

 

We are looking for someone enthusiastic and committed to join our School Organisation Team. The team is responsible for the County Council’s statutory duty to ensure that we have sufficient school places for children in Staffordshire.

 

In this role you will need to make recommendations on the number of school places required by forecasting future need in the short-, medium- and long-term future. You will do this by analysing data including local demographics and school-based information and identifying statistical patterns and trends. You will apply your knowledge, skills and experience in association with law, policy and procedures to make informed decisions and proposals.

 

You will need to maintain and develop good links and working relationships with colleagues and a wide range of stakeholders collaborating successfully and maintaining transparent working to ensure a co-ordinated delivery of our service. This will include working with Local Planning Authorities and developers to secure new schools or expansions of existing schools and the associated funding to deliver the additional school places.

 

Plus, you will also contribute to working and project groups meaning you will help to influence and develop internal and external local and national policy and strategy.

In this role you will need:

 

- Good communication skills with excellent influencing and negotiating skills

 

- To be adaptable to change in an ever-evolving education system

 

- Be able to think creatively to solve problems whilst working under pressure
