Are you a qualified Social Worker with a strong interest in working with people with learning disabilities, their families and the services they access?

The Community Learning Disabilities Team – North and South are looking to appoint to the following vacancies -

1x Social Worker – Redditch & Bromsgrove (up to 37 hours) – Permanent

1x Social Worker – Worcester (up to 37 hours) – Permanent

We are happy for you to apply for either Part time or Full time hours.

What are we looking for?

You will need to have the confidence to advocate for people with a learning disability, and work in partnership with health colleagues and work with other statutory partners and voluntary sector providers.  As a practitioner you will need to have the ability to be creative, innovative and search for imaginative solutions that are not always obvious. In Worcestershire we use the 3 Conversation model of practice which involves a strength-based approach to working with the people we support to maximise their independence and enhance their lives. Furthermore, we have a named worker system that gives opportunity to build quality relationships with people and their carers to ensure a collaborative approach to planning.

Managing your own work and caseload includes the ability to approve and purchase support packages and have the confidence to support people to make real and positive changes in their life.

What can Worcestershire offer you in return?

Both Learning Disabilities Teams are well-established, supportive and nurturing, offering excellent opportunities for workers to grow and develop their experience and practice. Social work and health colleagues work very closely together and are passionate about working within the learning disability field.

With a basic salary of up to £29,174 per annum (dependent on experience), this is just a start, we can also offer you:

  • Flexible and mobile working, with supporting technology, enabling you to work from a range of office bases, touch points and home.
  • On-going training, and professional development opportunities, Aspiring Managers programmes, monthly individual and peer supervision, and a warm, supportive working environment where we value your contribution and staff value each other.
  • Newly qualified Social Workers will be supported to complete their ASYE year and will benefit from the expertise of experienced social work colleagues.
