We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and capable professional to lead the Operational Finance team in providing a pro-active, customer focused financial support service to Members and the Corporate Management Team.

 

Reporting to the Head of Finance, the role includes managing a team to oversee the delivery of Procurement, Ledger system administration, Insurance and risk management, leasing, VAT, creditors and bank services functions. You will also be responsible for the provision of financial advice and guidance to senior officers, Members and staff, aligned to their diverse operational areas; contributing to the development and improvement of financial processes and procedures; and managing the Operational Finance team to ensure the development of highly skilled and motivated staff.

 

With excellent analytical, problem solving, and interpersonal skills, you will hold a relevant degree or professional CCAB qualification. Applicants with extensive experience in local authority finance, and experience of managing and developing staff may also be considered.

 

This is a home working contract and the majority of duties will be carried out at home, however, employees will be contractually required to attend site on two days per month for team meetings, 121 meetings, etc. Employees may also be required to attend a site for meetings, collaborative work or to undertake work related activities. Site attendance will constitute no more than 40% of working time and includes the contractual 2 days per month.
