This is an exciting opportunity to join Walsall Council and support the team working with local residents to progress them into sustainable employment.

Walsall Council are successfully delivering the Restart Scheme on behalf of Serco and we are looking for a Quality Officer to ensure compliance and maintain a high standard of auditable records.

The post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective quality monitoring function within a busy programme management environment.

The role involves both monitoring quality also but putting into place the necessary processes and actions to ensure contractual compliant but that the delivery we have here at Walsall adds value to our participant’s journey. The role will involve building effective relationships with both delivery colleagues and partners including Serco and the DWP.

The post-holder will need a strong track record in working with quality procedures and in the creation of monitoring processes and frameworks, and the ability to manage both a demanding workload and complex funding requirements. This post is covered by the Government’s Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers.  The post holder will be required to communicate verbally with customers and provide advice and/or information in accurate spoken English.

For this role the successful candidates must undergo a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check.  BPSS is the minimum standard to ensure the identity and integrity of an employee who has access to official information using secure networks linking central government and local authorities.  A BPSS check involves four main elements; Identity Check, National and Immigration Status, Employment History (last 3 years) and Verification of Criminal Record (unspent convictions only).
