ADMINISTRATOR – Ref: TV14422

Temporary Post to start as soon as possible until 31st August 2023

30 hours per week Monday to Friday (8.30am – 3.00pm) - Term Time only

Grade: 3 (SP 4-6) (Pro-rata for 39 weeks £13,373.22 - £13,914.00)

We are looking to appoint a dynamic and forward thinking Administrator to work as part of the Administrative team who is a motivated and independent person who is committed to provide support for our students and staff to provide administrative support in different areas. The successful person will work under the instruction and guidance of the MIS Manager, Finance and Administration Manager and other key staff to complete work set by staff to provide support for our students and their families. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to make a difference to the lives of our students.

Joseph Leckie Academy was graded good in all categories and for overall effectiveness in the recent Ofsted inspection in October 2021. This is a vibrant, exciting and innovative mixed 11-18 Converter Academy with an overall progress score of +0.46. With our excellent results and our Ofsted grading and continual desire and drive to continue moving forward towards outstanding. This is an exciting time for you to join our growing team. The Academy has remained for three years as the top non-selective secondary school for progress in Walsall and is one of the highest performing secondary schools in the region. Most of our students remain with us into the Sixth form.

Ofsted have said that we have an ambitious curriculum, mapped in detail and a curriculum that is broad and deep, including the two year Key Stage 3. Students study a wide range of subjects at Key Stage 4 and there are plans to develop this further to support their next stage in education or employment and training. Leaders know what knowledge students should be taught and have sequenced learning well so students learn content in the right order and teachers and support staff work very well to and go the extra mile to support and improve students learning. Mistakes are spotted and modified through frequent assessment of learning.  Inspectors commented on the very effective use of support staff both faculty and SEND staff to support students learning, including developing literacy skills and our SEND students flourish. All students are well prepared to go on to higher education or employment and training.

The successful candidate should:

  • have at least 5 GCSE’s including English and Maths at Level 4 (Grade C) or above have some experience of working with students at Key stage 3 and 4 and their families  in particular, preferably within an educational setting have a high level of administrative skills and abilities have a passion for learning and working with children and families to support them be able to work independently and manage own time as needed within the demands of the role have the ability to motivate, inspire and go the extra mile for our students, families and staff be able to inspire students and get the best from them be positive, enthusiastic and resilient be an effective team member have a clear understanding of supporting teaching and learning have highly developed inter – personal skills, communication and excellent ICT skills be ambitious for further career development and enhancement be able to work effectively with students, staff and parents, meet the job specification criteria have a clear understanding of the importance of Safeguarding and equal opportunities

The successful applicant will work 6 hours a day, hours above include a paid academy break but an unpaid lunch of 30 minutes. Some of our support staff also offer to do lunchtime duties which are paid in addition on a separate contract.
