Salary: G12 £46,662 - £52,213 per annum
37 hours per week / Permanent post
This position is based in the Intermediate Care Services (ICS) located at Blakenall Village Centre, 79 Thames Road, Walsall, West Midlands, WS3 1LZ.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Walsall’s Intermediate Care Service (ICS). We are seeking a dynamic Team Manager who has previous experience within social care management to lead the ICS Social Care operational team and social arm of the service.
Walsall’s Intermediate Care Service (ICS) provides interim care and support to patients on discharge from hospital and supports admission avoidance pathways in line with the national Hospital Discharge and Community Support guidance. The service is fully integrated between Walsall Council and Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust and provides a service to the residents of Walsall. You will need to have a passion for working with a diverse group of people and have a sound understanding of the specific client groups and their differing needs, in order to drive quality and performance.
You will need to have previous management experience and have the skills and abilities to respond to the service’s needs. You will be accountable for the daily financial and operational performance of the social elements of the ICS Service. This will include responsibility for directing, developing, managing, and leading a dedicated staff team efficiently and effectively whilst promoting and supporting a culture of high-level responsiveness within the team. You will need excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders both internal and external to the organisation. You will have responsibility for the delivery of statutory duties commensurate with supporting people within Adult Social Care.
As the Team Manager, you will support the ICS Service Manager to ensure effectively delivery of the service across Walsall. You should have the ability to contribute towards the transformation of our service and understand the importance of customer and staff involvement in this process. You will need to be creative and innovative and able to collaborate across the health and social care sector. You will need to have a good understanding of health and social care legislation and evidence an understanding of the national direction for intermediate care. Candidates need to demonstrate commitment to integration across Health and Social Care and promote partnership working.
Applicants need to have the following:
- BA in Social Work / BSc in Occupational Therapy or equivalent i.e. CQSW / DipSW / DipOT
- Post qualifying experience working within Social Care
- HCPC/Social Work England registration
