The role:
Are you a qualified professional with significant post qualifying experience? Do you have considerable experience of Adult Safeguarding including the Making Safeguarding Personal agenda and a Strengths Based focus? If so, then we have an exciting opportunity for a permanent, full-time Advanced Practitioner to join the Adult Safeguarding Team. You must have professional experience in adult safeguarding to operate as an Advanced Professional, taking a lead role in Safeguarding and complex work within the team. You will be based in the Adult Safeguarding Team at County Hall, Worcester.
Key accountabilities
- You must hold a professional qualification in a relevant field eg Social Work Degree, DipSW, CQSW or other equivalent qualification.
- As an Advanced Practitioner you will initiate and develop subject matter expertise, acting as a point of contact for staff within Adult Social Care and partner agencies.
- You will manage and have an over view of Adult Safeguarding issues on a caseload of complex cases.
- You will model and advocate a strengths-based approach to supporting people and act on opportunities to enhance the support provided to people experiencing abuse/neglect
Skills & experience
It is essential that the post holder has:
- Significant post-qualifying experience in adult safeguarding Significant experience of working with people who have experienced abuse/neglect Significant experience of working with adults without capacity to make decisions as described by legislation Applied knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005, Care Act 2014 and associated legislation Excellent communication skills including face to face and in writing. Ability to motivate and influence through communications.
