Youth Justice Officer - Ref: CH02822
Salary G8 £30,984 - £35,336 per annum
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Youth Justice Service in Walsall. The Youth Justice Service is a multi-agency service with the principle aim of preventing and reducing youth offending in Walsall.
Walsall Youth Justice is a service that is continually improving and striving for excellence; we are keen that the successful candidate continues to achieve the best results for children and young people in Walsall and their victims. We are looking for a motivated and positive practitioner ideally with previous employment experience working with children and young people in a criminal justice setting.
Your role will be to manage young people who have been convicted of an offence and are subject to a Court ordered intervention. You will need to understand both the Criminal Justice System and child and adolescent development. We are looking for a practitioner who is enthusiastic, dedicated and committed to achieving real change in people’s lives and a team player.
Qualification:
You will need to be a qualified social worker, probation officer, or have a relevant, good quality honours degree in addition to the Youth Justice Effective Practice Certificate (or PCEP) or be prepared to complete this in your first year of employment.
