Salary: £21,351 - £23,572 per annum
Contracted Hours: 35 hours
Location: Worcester (County Hall)
Contract Type: Permanent

The Role

We’re looking to find the right person to join the Finance Operational Services (FOS) team here at Worcestershire County Council. Worcestershire is a great place to live and work. We are a large and varied county with lots of rural areas and busy towns with a wealth of history, heritage, and culture.
The Finance Operational Services (FOS) team are part of the council’s overall finance team. We support Worcestershire’s residents from their early years into later life and everything in between and play a vital role in sourcing and funding services, making payments to both individuals and businesses including schools to cover services provided, managing contributions towards care, insurance claims, early years payments and income and debt services – to name a few! We are a fast paced, dynamic, enthusiastic, and inclusive team and prides ourselves on the development and progression of our staff.

Finance Operational Services currently has over 90 members and this allows for cross-team, collaborative working, and plenty of opportunities for growth and progression.
Following a recent re-structure, we are delighted to share that we have multiple opportunities for talented, ambitious, customer service focused individuals to work within the areas below, which all fall within the FOS team:

Brokerage – The brokerage team negotiate and work on behalf of both WCC and service users to find the best quality care looking at best price from contracted and CQC registered providers to allow individuals to maintain independence for as long as possible.

Appointees & Deputies – We act as the financial representative (DWP appointee or Court appointed Deputy) for adult residents who lack the mental capacity to deal with their finances themselves. Ensuring financial decisions are made in the best interest of the person we are appointed to act for. We use Internet banking and case management systems to include the setting up of accounts, maintaining records, validating, and processing payments, reconciliations etc.
