TEACHING ASSISTANT LEVEL 2
The Role
Brooke School is a large all age school making successful provision for 206 children/young people aged 2-19 years. Our designation is for children and young people who present with a broad spectrum of learning needs specifically those who have a severe or moderate/complex learning difficulty. A large percentage of our students have additional needs, such as communication needs and a significant number of our learners are on the autistic spectrum. We are an outward looking school working towards developing our capacity in order that we can better support students in the school and local area.
We are seeking to appoint several Level 2 Teaching Assistants to join our hardworking and dedicated staff team at Brooke School in readiness for the Summer Term or September 2022. The successful candidates will take responsibility for supporting young people’s specific learning and development needs.
Key Requirements
The successful candidates will have experience of working within an educational setting, hold a relevant NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) and can demonstrate:
- The ability to use specialist skills, knowledge and training to provide support in specialist areas
- Contribution to pupil assessment and review of pupils’ progress ensuring appropriate records are consistently maintained in line with school systems
- The use of specialist skills, knowledge and training to provide support in specialist areas
- Experience in liaising with parents/carers, specialist teachers, other professional staff and sharing/providing appropriate information
- Supporting the class teacher with preparation, display and general classroom duties, including the organisation and development of class planning
- Providing guidance and support to junior colleagues
- Working as part of a team
- A proven track record of excellent practice

Hours of Work
35.5 Hours per week (Monday 8.30 to 4.30, Tuesday to Friday 8.30 until 4.00 )
