Grade 6 Point 9-15 (£21,269-£23,952)

(Please note the Salary will start at £21,269 and future increments will lead to £23,952 following an appraisal of the last increment)

*plus additional sleeping in allowance*

The pupils who attend Loxley Hall come from all across Staffordshire and have Education Health Care Plans for Special Educational Needs for Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties with resulting behavioural problems. Our aim at Loxley Hall School is to make our Residential students feel safe, wanted and listened to. We are seeking someone who has patience, a sense of humour, a lot of energy and enjoys working with young people.

 

 The job will be varied and will include:

·Supporting young people to have fun, trust adults, make friends and develop their self-confidence.

·Maintaining a safe, secure and pleasant environment for the young people to live in.

·Working with other staff and on your own to prepare activities and this could include sharing your own hobbies and interests.

·The role includes working 3 x evenings per week in the Residential Educational provision and this will include sleeping in duties.

·Helping to prepare evening meals.

·1 x day per week supporting in the school day.

·Leading by example and being a good role model.

·Keeping up to date observations and records and feeding back to parents and guardians.

·Completion of Diploma Level 3 as per the National minimum standards. This would be started after a successful 6 month probationary period.

 

We will provide essential training as part of our staff development programme will also work with the successful candidate to provide further training opportunities in line with their career aspirations.

 

Closing Date for applications is Friday 8th July and interviews will be held on Monday 18th July 2022. The start date will be Monday 5th September 2022.

Loxley Hall School offers Residential education for children and young people age 11 – 16 years with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties. It is part of Manor Hall Academy Trust which serves 14 special schools and PRUs across the Midlands.

Loxley Hall School

Loxley Hall Residential is an Ofsted rated Outstanding provision that offers 43 residential educational places per week, for boys 11 – 16 years, with accommodation situated within 2 domestic houses. The creation of this homely atmosphere enables us to prepare our youngsters along the road from dependence to independence.

 

Staff display unconditional positive regard for all students and provide them with a safe, supportive, inclusive, positive, and rewarding experience.

 

The ‘Whole School’ approach and seamless service with education, underpins each young person’s overall progress.

 

Great emphasis is put on offering numerous and varied activities which can all be used as a vehicle to develop their emotional and social skills, their self-confidence and ability to manage their own behaviour. This helps them to develop an understanding of citizenship and their place in wider society.

39 hours per week. 

 

There is also the requirement to complete 12 hours per academic year as Twilight’s. For example on 6 x Friday’s per year you would work until 3pm.
