Are you an experienced SENCO looking for a permanent position with career development opportunities?

 

The position:

The Academy is seeking a versatile SENCO to work across the school. Part of the Staffordshire University Academy Trust, John Wheeldon Primary Academy has a strong momentum for progress and big ambitions for the future, this year we are poised to achieve great things.

 

We are looking to appoint a SENCO with experience of working with children with a wide range of additional needs. As a Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) you will be required to monitor and analyse progress of students, set suitable targets and be able to confidently evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning. As a Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) you will hold the National SENCO qualification or be working towards completing the qualification. You will be able to effectively lead and manage the team and work closely with parent/carers and professionals.

 

 The ideal candidate must have the following:

  • Must have Qualified Teacher Status Must hold the NASENCO qualification and have strong understanding of SEND Must have previous experience working as a SENCO Hold recent classroom-based experience Good organisational skills and ability to work to strict deadlines Be versatile to take on a range of activities eg Behaviour lead, targeted learning activities Have a friendly personality and have the ability to work within a larger team Have high expectations of all learners
