Teacher - The Orchard School

The Orchard School is an outstanding Sandwell Special School that caters for pupils with complex and profound learning difficulties. These include severe autism, complex medical conditions, physical and mobility difficulties, as well as severe developmental delay. There are currently 147 pupils on roll, and our children range from 2 –11 years.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for The Orchard School to recruit a Teacher.

We are seeking to appoint a good/outstanding teacher to this post with effect. The successful candidate will be an exemplary classroom practitioner who is highly motivated, experienced enthusiastic, and willing to contribute to our successful school.

We are a dynamic, vibrant and forward-looking school, with a welcoming ethos and a commitment to working in partnership with other agencies and families in order to harness and develop each child’s potential.

You must have extensive experience and a passion for the education of pupils with a wide range of needs.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.  The successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check. Any offer of appointment will be subject to successful DBS clearance and 2 satisfactory references and a clear Disqualification by association return.

This post requires a Children’s Barring List Check. If you are barred from working with children you are breaking the law if you apply for this post.

This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent and spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.

Hours:  Full Time

Salary: Teachers Main - Upper Pay Scale  (£25,714 - £41,604 p.a.) plus SEN Allowance (£2,270 per annum)
