Level 3 School MIS Support Apprentice

Fixed term contract for 15 months

Salary: £18,786

Hours: 37 Hours per week

Are you looking for an opportunity to work in a busy and innovative environment? Do you have an interest in ICT? The City of Wolverhampton Council has an exciting opportunity for an individual to join the School Management Information Systems Support Team.

The successful Apprentice will have the opportunity to develop skills to perform data handling / analysis role in a busy and innovative office environment.  You will work with the School MIS support Team and be the first point of contact for schools on a range of SIMS and Bromcom issues and will ensure that appropriate action is taken.

The Apprentice who is successful in this position will have the opportunity to gain an industry accredited qualification with full support and training in the Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship standard https://www.instituteforapprenticeships.org/apprenticeship-standards/business-administrator-v1-0

You will be supported by experienced staff who can assist you with your work and study to give you the experience to apply for other roles within the council. You will also be trained to use various IT systems that support the efficient delivery of our services.

Principal duties and responsibilities:

 

1.            Assist with answering telephone calls and logging details onto the helpdesk.

 

2.         ;   With support and guidance, dealing with day-to-day school MIS issues and helpdesk enquires.

 

3.         ;  ; With support, providing schools with information through the online CloudW platform.

 

4.            Assist with testing of new school MIS software and initiatives.

 

5.            Assist with data input and analysis on schools MIS systems.

 

6.            With guidance, provide support to schools in accordance with the SIMS and Bromcom Support SLA.

 

7.            Supporting other team members with project work and assisting with daily update routine work.

 

8.          ;  Undertake training related to the Apprenticeship Scheme and other training required to perform the duties outlined in this job description.
