Location: Adult Safeguarding Enquiry Team

 

Salary:  £43,570- £47,665 per annum (pro rata)

 

Contract type: 37 Hours per week - Permanent

 

About the role

 

The Adult Safeguarding Enquiry Team (ASET) is a dynamic and forward thinking team based within a multi-agency environment.  We are a small but busy specialist safeguarding team based at Staffordshire Police Headquarters completing enquires across the County.  The team works under the principles of safeguarding as defined by the Care Act 2014 and Making Safeguarding Personal.

 

 

As Practice Lead you will work closely with the other ASET Practice Lead being responsible for guiding the team and giving support to the Safeguarding Practitioners who are completing Section 42 enquiries. You will be responsible for the supervision of the Safeguarding Practitioners ensuring that they are supported when dealing with high risk and complex section 42 enquiries. As Practice Lead you will be responsible for coordinating and chairing Large Scale Enquiries and work closely with partner organisations to achieve best outcomes for the adults in the home and work with providers to maximise the services they provide. You will also be responsible for the review of section 42 enquiries that have been conducted by provider organisations to ensure that the risks to adults have been appropriately managed.

 

What you’ll bring

 

A sound knowledge of relevant social care legislation including the Care Act, MCA, MHA and local adult safeguarding policies and procedures is essential.  A broader knowledge of the issues relating to adult social care is required as well as a passion and commitment to working with other agencies to achieve outcomes. 

 

A management qualification or equivalent experience would be beneficial. Experience of supervising and directing others is essential.  The right applicant should be able to demonstrate good communication and recording skills
